radical, relational therapy

for personal growth and healing

Welcome. I'm so glad you're here.

Therapy can be a powerful, vulnerable experience with a lot of unknowns and uncharted territory. It takes courage to step into this process not knowing if it will be worth it. With willingness, commitment, and openness, it will be.

I am a radical, relational therapist who brings my genuine presence, empathy, practicality, knowledge, and humor to this work. I offer my careful attention and non-judgmental understanding, as well as a social justice lens and a passion for the complexity of the human condition. I am curious, caring, honest, and direct. I work hard to know my privilege and to stay educated and humble in my work and personal life.

    • members of the queer/LGBTQ+ community: Being queer myself, I love working with LGBTQ+ clients and connect deeply with their life experience and healing journey. I understand that queerness can mean different things for different people and what matters most is that my clients are fully seen and supported in discovering and embodying their truth.

    • trans and non-binary folx: I enjoy supporting trans and non-binary clients in their path of gender liberation - whatever this looks like. I am trained through Brave Space to write letters on behalf of trans clients for any medical interventions they might need. I have had (and continue to be on) my own personal gender journey.

    • highly sensitive people: The common trait of “sensitivity” is so misunderstood in our culture. Being highly sensitive is a gift. I love supporting people in discovering the gifts of being an HSP and learning how they can care for themselves and channel those qualities in ways that feel empowering and meaningful for them.

    • women who are at a crossroads: I am invigorated and inspired by working with women and femmes who are facing opportunities to make empowered decisions for themselves. The social construct of womanhood and femininity can create a lot of pressure and anxiety. I am passionate about supporting women in challenging those expectations and discovering their own truth and meaning.

    • teens: I have been working with youth since I entered the mental health field in 2007. I feel uniquely attuned to the challenges they face at this stage in life. You can learn more here.

Unsure if you align with any of these descriptions? That's okay. If you still think I might be the therapist you'd like to work with, reach out!

  • My therapeutic work with clients often focuses on anxiety, trauma, and grief and loss. Why? Because basically everyone deals with a combination of these. Do you relate?

Beyond these core challenges, I work with people around all kinds of issues - everyone has their unique story and life experience. This may include:

    • major life transitions

    • feelings of depression

    • various challenges in relationships

    • experiencing shame and self-doubt

    • trouble with body image or sexuality

    • self and identity work

    • spiritual growth and exploration

    • …or really anything else. If something is out of my scope of practice, I will tell you right away.

    Learn about Individual Therapy

  • I am a relational therapist. I offer my genuine and compassionate presence as I work collaboratively in an organic and unique process with each client. Humans are complex and our emotional development is unique to our personal combination of genetics and life experiences. I challenge the conventional model of psychotherapy that sees clients as patients with a disorder that needs to be “treated.” I understand the human condition in a holistic, strengths-based way - each of us is adaptive, resilient, and got to where we are for a reason.

Fundamentally, I use a humanistic, existential framework with a systemic lens, and practice narrative therapy and parts work. I focus on attachment and emotional insight.

I genuinely invest in my clients and deeply honor the trust and bond that occurs in therapy.

  • Individual Therapy

I am a relational therapist whose first priority is earning your trust and creating a safe environment for you to explore and challenge yourself honestly. Individual therapy with me is not a structured, predictable process. It will be unique to you and your needs.

  • Counseling for Teens

I work with teens to build a healthy values system and sense of self that can guide them through the difficult life transitions and inevitable challenges they face in this time and into their young adult lives. Counseling with teens is a unique and delicate endeavor. Family, school, and social dynamics are at the forefront as their growth is accelerated and magnified in this stage of life.

  • EMDR

NOTE: I am not currently taking on any new clients seeking EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic intervention based on bilateral stimulation. It specifically targets traumatic memories that continue to trigger your nervous system.
