Common Reasons People Seek Therapy
Much of my work focuses on anxiety, trauma, and grief and loss. Because most humans experience some or all of these throughout their lifetime.
Beyond these core challenges, everyone has their own personal story and struggles. Your experience in therapy will be unique to you and we’ll figure out what that looks like together.
If you feel like you need or want therapy, that alone is a good enough reason to give it a try.
I work particularly well with the following groups*
-
Being queer myself, I connect deeply with the life experiences and healing journeys of LGBTQ+ folks. I understand that queerness can mean different things for different people. What matters most is that my clients are fully seen and supported in discovering and embodying their truth.
Additionally, I enjoy supporting trans and non-binary clients in their path of gender liberation–whatever that looks like. I am trained to write letters on behalf of trans clients for any medical interventions they might need.
-
I love to support people who have difficulty with self-trust, intuition, and emotional intimacy in finding healing and personal fulfillment.
Emotional neglect in our formative years can often lead to challenges in our adult lives that are hard to contextualize, because the roots often go back to what was missing from our significant developmental relationships (i.e. what didn’t happen, rather than what happened). These issues can look like: struggling to identify our needs and feelings, habitually people-pleasing, experiencing a vague or persistent sense of loneliness and disconnection from ourselves and others, hyper-independence, shame, anxiety, and a lot more.
-
The common trait of “sensitivity” is so misunderstood in our culture. Being highly sensitive is a gift. I love supporting people in discovering the benefits of being an HSP as well as learning how they can care for themselves and channel those qualities in ways that feel empowering and meaningful for them.

I’m invigorated and inspired by working with women and femmes who are facing opportunities to make empowered decisions for themselves. The social construct of womanhood and femininity can create a lot of pressure and anxiety. I am passionate about supporting women in challenging those expectations and discovering their own truth and meaning.
*This list is not meant to exclude people who aren’t on it. If you don’t fit any of these categories, but feel drawn to working with me, please get in touch! But if you are on this list, this is my way of explicitly letting you know you're welcome. If I don’t have the training or experience to help with your particular needs, I will tell you right away.
