Why longer sessions?
90-minute sessions are not for everyone. If the standard appointment length (50-60 minutes) works well for you, that’s great! But if you’re curious, keep reading to learn about the potential benefits of 90-minute sessions.
-
-You can't commit to regular weekly or biweekly sessions. You want to prioritize therapy, but it works better for you to meet less often and/or on an irregular schedule that fits your shifting availability.
-You prefer having more time between sessions to reflect and put things into practice in your life.
-You feel like standard (50-60 minute) sessions go by too quickly. You end up watching the clock or feeling anxious about running out of time before you get to everything you want to talk about.
-You want time and space to go deeper. Shorter sessions feel like they're over just when things are starting to really get good!
-Your nervous system needs time to settle into sessions and/or transition back out to the rest of your life. You want to give yourself that space while still having a good amount of time in between to work on stuff.
-
-Sometimes weekly 60-minute sessions can leave therapy feeling stale or stagnant. I want to offer you an opportunity to do more than just have a casual chat about your week–something you can do with a friend (for a lot less money!). Longer and/or less frequent sessions can support this goal.
-Therapy is vulnerable and many of us need time to ease in. Habitual ways we behave in the world may need time to soften. Longer sessions can create more space to settle in, dig deep, and discover important insights.
-Longer sessions allow for a transition in and out of therapy that is kinder to your nervous system. The buzz of whatever we were doing before sessions sometimes needs to dissipate a bit before we can settle.
-A common struggle for many clients is deciding what to focus on in sessions. While this process of prioritizing is important regardless of session length, 90-minute sessions allow us to cover more ground each time we meet.
-The value of therapy is best measured by what happens outside of our sessions. Meeting longer, but less often can shift the focus away from what happens in session into what happens in the rest of your life.

Do I have to choose either 60 or 90-minute sessions or can I request 90-minute sessions as needed?
90-minute sessions can be scheduled as needed, as long as I have room in my schedule to accommodate your request
Can I do 90-minute sessions if we’re meeting every week?
These sessions are for folks who are meeting less often than weekly (i.e., every two or more weeks between sessions).
What if I run out of things to talk about before the 90 minutes is up? Can we end early and I can just pay for the shorter session?
You are always welcome to end any length session early if need be. However, you will still be responsible for the full payment because that 90-minute time slot was reserved for you. Also, in my experience there are always plenty of worthwhile options of how we can use our time together.
What’s the fee?
A 90–minute individual therapy session is $275. A 60-minute session is $195.
