We can heal in relationship.
Our closest relationships often bring our deepest relational wounds to the surface. The ways we seek safety, connection, independence, and belonging are shaped by the experiences and messages we’ve internalized over time.
When conflict happens, it’s easy to get caught in the details of an argument or stuck in painful patterns without recognizing the deeper feelings, needs, and fears underneath. My approach to couples therapy is grounded in attachment theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and elements of the Gottman Method, with my general philosophy always running in the background. In our work together, we’ll slow down and explore what’s happening beneath the surface with curiosity and compassion.
I’ll help you better understand what you’re actually trying to communicate, while learning how to listen to each other in ways that help both of you feel seen, heard, and understood. When we begin to access the deeper vulnerability each person brings into a relationship, greater connection, clarity, and mutual respect become possible.
I most often work with queer couples and couples in non-heteronormative relationship structures.
